On April 14, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Pine Bluff police responded to a shooting incident in the 3500 block of South Virginia Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Tre’vion Nelson just inside the front door of a residence; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nelson's body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. This incident marked the 10th homicide in Pine Bluff for the year 2022.
