On the morning of Saturday, January 24, 2026, the life of 18-year-old Jayden Hoskins was tragically cut short in Little Rock, Arkansas. At approximately 8:20 a.m., officers from the 12th Street Division were dispatched to 2009 Brown Street after a ShotSpotter activation indicated gunfire in the area.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Hoskins on the front porch of the residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, Hoskins succumbed to his injuries at that location. The area was promptly secured by law enforcement, and an investigation was initiated by Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit. The Pulaski County Coroner's office arranged for the victim's body to be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the official cause of death.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives identified 20-year-old Jonathon Scott Jr. as a suspect in the fatal shooting. Scott was taken into custody and brought to the Major Crimes Division for questioning. Following the interview, he was formally charged with Capital Murder. He was then transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail, where he was booked. The investigation into the death of Jayden Hoskins is reported to be ongoing.
