In the cold of a Buffalo night, just after midnight, the life of 28-year-old Shameka Harris was tragically cut short. On Tuesday, December 11, 2012, she and a companion, 23-year-old Joshua Eatman, were sitting in a cab near their Minnesota Avenue home when the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet. Eight shots were fired in their direction, fatally wounding both Harris and Eatman. Emergency services rushed the two to Erie County Medical Center, but their injuries proved too severe.
