In the late hours of a Thursday in Baton Rouge, a life was tragically cut short. Sixteen-year-old Charleston Wright was on Ozark Street, near Delaware Street, when a gunshot shattered the evening's calm around 9:35 p.m. on January 8, 2026. First responders arrived to find the teenager with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital for medical attention, but despite their efforts, Charleston succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
