In the predawn hours of August 29, 2017, the quiet of a Baton Rouge street was broken by an act of violence that claimed the life of 18-year-old Jocquez Ivory. A native of Natchez, Mississippi, the young male had his life tragically cut short on Scenic Highway. Responding to a call, police discovered Ivory's body around 1:30 a.m.; he had been shot eight times in what appeared to be a robbery.
