An African American man, 38-year-old Alexander Jason Scott, was discovered deceased on the morning of April 8, 2014, in a canal in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His body was found in the 1000 block of North 44th Street, near a residential area. The cause of death was determined to be from a gunshot wound.

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office, Scott had been shot multiple times. The investigation into his death was handled by the Baton Rouge Police Department. The case was c ...
