In the quiet hours of a Friday night in Baton Rouge, tragedy struck a family and a community, leaving them to grapple with the sudden and violent loss of a young life. On March 7, 2025, 14-year-old Derrick Dorsey, a male, was inside an apartment on Cadillac Street when the unthinkable happened. An unknown assailant fired multiple shots into the residence at approximately 10:21 p.m., striking the teenager.
