In the quiet hours of a Friday night in South Macon, tragedy struck, leaving a family heartbroken and a community in shock. On January 16, 2026, 19-year-old Dantwan Wynes was fatally shot on Hardwick Drive. When Bibb County sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene around 9:00 p.m., they found Wynes had already succumbed to his injuries. Another 19-year-old man was also discovered at the scene with a gunshot wound and was rushed to a local trauma center in critical condition.
