In the early hours of April 9, 2024, a sequence of events unfolded in Macon, Georgia, that culminated in the death of 51-year-old David Maynard Morris Jr. The incident took place in the 3800 block of Andrews Drive, where the Bibb County Sheriff's Office was dispatched following a report of a shooting at 1:04 a.m. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound behind a residence.
