On November 30, 2025, a violent double homicide occurred in the early morning hours in Charlotte, North Carolina, claiming the life of Glenntavis McCorey. The 44-year-old Black male was discovered by authorities who were responding to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 120 block of Atando Avenue, an area located in the city’s North Tryon Division.
The incident took place near the Queens Cabaret, a local establishment where the violence reportedly erupted just before 5:00 a.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department found McCorey critically injured inside a crashed luxury vehicle, identified in reports as a Bentley, which had veered off the road following the shooting. He had sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds and was immediately transported by medic to a local hospital. Despite emergency medical efforts, McCorey succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival.
The shooting also claimed the life of a second victim, 29-year-old D'andre Weaver, who was found nearby suffering from gunshot wounds and also died after being taken to the hospital. Preliminary reports suggested the gunfire may have stemmed from a dispute that began at the club, where Weaver reportedly worked as security. As of early December 2025, homicide detectives were actively investigating the case, combing the scenes for physical evidence and seeking community assistance. Police stated that no arrests had been made and no potential suspects had been publicly identified in the immediate aftermath of the killings.
