In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Dublin, Georgia, the life of 17-year-old Devauoris Lewis was tragically cut short. The young man was at Lessons Lounge located at 1111 Telfair Street when gunfire erupted around 12:40 a.m. Officers who were dispatched to the scene discovered Lewis suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services initially transported him to Fairview Park Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to a hospital in Macon. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Devauoris Lewis succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 10:39 a.m. that same day. His body was then taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Crime Lab for an autopsy.
The Dublin Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. Their efforts quickly led to a suspect, and on Monday, November 10, 2025, authorities took 17-year-old Rodney Coady into custody in connection with the death of Devauoris Lewis. Coady was subsequently charged with murder and is being held at the Laurens County Detention Center.
