In the summer of 2020, in Dublin, Georgia, the life of 39-year-old Daniel Raburn was brought to a violent and tragic end. On the morning of July 4th, his body was discovered lying in the yard of his home on Village Circle. Authorities who responded to the scene found that Raburn had sustained a head injury and was deceased. An investigation into his death would later reveal that he had been both beaten and shot as the result of a domestic dispute.
The subsequent investigation by the Dublin Police Department quickly led to the arrest of Raburn's 37-year-old girlfriend, Brandilee Nicole Woodard Brady, who was charged with his murder. As detectives delved deeper into the circumstances surrounding Raburn's death, two other individuals were implicated in the crime. Thirty-seven-year-old Andrew Huber and 27-year-old Thomas Harper were also taken into custody and charged with murder. The investigation indicated that a domestic issue had escalated, leading to the fatal assault on Raburn.
The legal proceedings that followed brought a measure of justice for Daniel Raburn's death. Andrew Thomas Huber was convicted of felony murder for his role in the incident. Though he was not the one who pulled the trigger, the court found him to be a party to the crimes that led to Raburn's death, and he was sentenced to life in prison. The Georgia Supreme Court later upheld his conviction in 2024. Brandilee Nicole Woodard Brady and Thomas Wayne Harper both pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter. Their sentences ranged from 10 to 20 years in prison. Harper confessed to being the one who shot Raburn during the altercation.
