Michelle Smits, a 44-year-old woman from Niagara Falls, New York, was last seen on January 19, 2016. After crossing the border from Canada into the United States on that date, she continued to stay in touch with her family until February 3, 2016, after which communication ceased. Her vehicle was later found near Boston Harbor, Massachusetts, on February 11, 2016, further deepening the mystery surrounding her disappearance.
