Quartez Sager, a 30-year-old resident of Birmingham, Alabama, lost his life on June 22, 2013. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, shortly before 3 a.m., when police responded to a call at the intersection of 17th Street Southwest and Alemeda Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Sager lying on the sidewalk, having been shot.
