Before dawn on October 25, 2025, Michael Davila Rivera, 25, male, was shot inside a home on the 400 block of West Grange Avenue in Philadelphia’s Logan section. Responding officers arrived around 4:50–5:00 a.m. to a chaotic scene on the second floor, where investigators later said there was significant blood. Davila Rivera had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, a 28-year-old man, had been shot multiple times in the torso and was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
Detectives quickly developed a suspect and, within roughly forty-eight hours, arrested 28-year-old Hudhayfah Trice. Police reported recovering a loaded handgun at the time of his arrest. Trice was charged with murder, attempted murder, and related offenses in connection with the double shooting. Authorities identified Davila Rivera as the man killed in the attack as the wounded survivor continued to receive treatment.
