On September 27, 2022, 14-year-old Nicholas Elizalde, a freshman at Walter B. Saul High School and a member of Roxborough High School's football team, was tragically killed in a shooting outside Roxborough High School in Philadelphia, PA. Elizalde was an innocent bystander who was with a group of high school football players following a scrimmage when several gunmen exited a parked SUV and opened fire. Elizalde was struck and killed in the shooting, and four other teens were injured.
