On a September afternoon in 2022, the life of 14-year-old Nicholas Elizalde was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. A freshman at Walter B. Saul High School, the male student played football for Roxborough High School because his own school lacked a team. On September 27, as he and his teammates walked from a football scrimmage, they were ambushed. Five assailants emerged from a parked SUV and unleashed more than 60 bullets into the group of students.
