On June 12, 2022, Jessie Bridges, a 40-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in North Philadelphia. Bridges was shot in the head as he was getting into his car after leaving his sick mother's house. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. on the 3300 block of North Smedley Street.
