On a grim November evening in 2016, the life of 41-year-old Josephus Butler, an African-American male, was tragically cut short in his own Philadelphia neighborhood. The night of November 23rd was shattered by the sound of gunfire on the 2000 block of West Turner Street, a place Butler called home. When police responded to the call at approximately 9:49 p.m., they discovered a harrowing scene. Butler was found near the front door of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.
