In the quiet neighborhood of Germantown, Philadelphia, a life was abruptly cut short on a late September evening in 2011. Saleem Harrison, a 30-year-old man, was close to his residence on the 500 block of Locust Avenue when the sound of gunfire pierced the night air. He had been shot multiple times in the chest.

Rushed to the nearby Einstein Medical Center, medical personnel fought to save him, but his wounds proved to be fatal. Saleem Harrison was pronounced dead shortly before 10:45 p.m ...
