On the evening of July 20, 2023, at approximately 8:24 p.m., 25-year-old Philadelphia rapper Devin Spady, known professionally as YNG Cheese, was fatally shot in a triple shooting incident on the 5800 block of Mascher Street in Philadelphia's Olney neighborhood. Spady, the son of rapper and podcaster Gillie Da King (formerly Gillie Da Kid), sustained a gunshot wound to the back. He was transported to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m.
