In the late evening hours of a Monday in Philadelphia, a domestic dispute tragically escalated, claiming the life of 29-year-old Javier Osorio-Benites. The fatal encounter unfolded on June 5, 2017, inside a home on the 3000 block of Percy Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood. An argument between Osorio-Benites and another man who resided in the same house turned violent.
Just after 10:30 p.m., the disagreement reached a devastating climax when Osorio-Benites was shot once in the
chest. Emergency services were called, and he was rushed to Temple University Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead shortly after 11 p.m.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the gunman, identified by police as a 26-year-old man, fled the scene on foot. Law enforcement officials quickly identified him as he was known to both the victim and other witnesses present in the house at the time of the incident. While police announced that they knew the identity of the alleged shooter, it is not publicly known if an arrest was ever made in connection with the death of Javier Osorio-Benites.
