In the early hours of an October morning, the life of 29-year-old Devonte Redmond, a male resident of Columbia, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On October 15, 2025, multiple calls to 911 reported gunfire at the Columbia Gardens Apartments on Plowden Road. When Columbia Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m., they found Redmond unresponsive in an outdoor area of the complex. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body.
