In the cool autumn air of an October evening in Macon, Georgia, the life of 16-year-old Markell Kiewan Bonner Jr. was tragically cut short. On the night of Saturday, October 18, 2025, a barrage of gunfire echoed through the 500 block of Williams Street, leaving a scene of chaos and violence. When Bibb County Sheriff's deputies arrived just before 11 p.m., they discovered a grim tableau. Markell and another young man, 21-year-old Brandon Thomas, were found unresponsive, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
The violence of that night was not confined to Williams Street. Earlier, at 10:25 p.m., a third victim, 27-year-old Quantayrias Townsend, had been transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital, also suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he too succumbed to his injuries. The sheer scale of the incident was evident from the at least 50 shell casings that littered the residential street, a chilling testament to the intensity of the shootout. Neighbors reported hearing rapid gunfire, with some likening the sound to fireworks, a stark contrast to the deadly reality of the situation.
In the aftermath of the triple homicide, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office launched an intensive investigation. Their efforts soon focused on 21-year-old Rekeymia Henley. After a public appeal for information on her whereabouts, Henley turned herself in to authorities on the evening of October 27, 2025. She was subsequently charged with three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Bonner, Thomas, and Townsend. In early December 2025, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office released the name and photograph of another individual, 24-year-old Titustavius Freeman Jr., stating that he might have 'extremely important' information regarding the case.
