On the night of August 16, 2025, Gilberto Mendoza Ramos, 28, male, was found with a single gunshot wound in the 2600 block of Harvard Drive in Chesapeake, Virginia. Officers arrived after a 10:44 p.m. 911 call, began life-saving measures, and transported Gilberto Mendoza Ramos to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police identified him publicly the following Monday and classified the case as a homicide.
