On June 26, 2022, 18-year-old Tayqwon Parkert was found with fatal gunshot wounds in the backyard of a townhouse in the Deep Creek community of Chesapeake, Virginia. The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. when residents reported hearing gunshots in the 2700 block of Townhouse Lane. A resident discovered Parkert in their backyard and immediately called the authorities. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Parkert succumbed to his injuries.
