On a summer evening in Dillon, South Carolina, the life of 60-year-old Alec Braxton, a male resident of Dillon County, was tragically cut short. On Thursday, July 3, 2025, Braxton was fatally shot on East Dargan Street in an incident that also claimed the life of 30-year-old Jalik Bethea, also from Dillon County. The event unfolded around 5:00 p.m., prompting a swift response from the City of Dillon Police Department.
