In the early morning hours of April 7, 2024, a shooting in Oklahoma City tragically cut short the life of 22-year-old Carlin Lichon Cherron Hawthorne. A Black female, Hawthorne was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a dispute that erupted in a parking lot on North Portland Avenue. At approximately 3:36 a.m., while sitting in a vehicle, Hawthorne was struck by gunfire. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.
