On September 29, 2023, 18-year-old Amarione Michal Boatwright, also known as "Nephew" and recognized as rapper SOB Nephew, was fatally shot in Dillon, South Carolina. The incident occurred near West Main Street, where community members reported hearing gunshots. Boatwright was transported to McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, where he succumbed to his injuries.
