Stephen “Steve” Shepard, a Black/African American man, age 32, was shot on the evening of July 28, 2025, in the parking lot of a Wendy’s on Winchester Road near Hacks Cross Road in Southeast Memphis. Police were first called at 5:21 p.m. for a disturbance inside the restaurant; by the time officers arrived, they found Stephen “Steve” Shepard, age 32, male, on the ground with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
