On July 25, 2023, Jeremy Maddox, 35, was fatally shot during an altercation at a Family Dollar store on Mendenhall Road near Knight Arnold in Memphis, Tennessee. Police responded to reports of a fight inside the store, which escalated into a shooting before their arrival. Maddox was pronounced dead at the scene.
