A disagreement inside a Memphis Family Dollar store on July 25, 2023, tragically escalated, leading to the shooting death of 35-year-old Jeremy Maddox. Maddox, a Black male, was inside the store located on Mendenhall Road near Knight Arnold when a fight broke out. The physical altercation turned deadly when a firearm was introduced, and Maddox was fatally wounded. When police arrived, they found Maddox deceased at the scene.
