In the evening hours of a Wednesday in Brooklyn, a dispute tragically escalated, leaving a young man's life cut short. Ramel Ingram, a 24-year-old male, was just outside his residence on Crooke Avenue in the Flatbush neighborhood, a stone's throw from the verdant expanse of Prospect Park. It was there, around 8:45 p.m., that the sounds of gunfire shattered the neighborhood's calm. Some accounts suggest Ingram was attempting to flee from his attacker when he was struck by multiple bullets to the chest.
Officers from the 70th Precinct swiftly responded to a 911 call reporting an assault. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ingram gravely wounded. Emergency medical services rushed him to the nearby NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in a desperate attempt to save his life.
