On September 3, 2022, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to multiple ShotSpotter alerts indicating gunfire in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue West. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims, 24-year-old Jalen Jamarcus Tolbert and 25-year-old Marquse Terrail Yarbrough, lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds.
