Remus W. Buckner, a Prohibition Agent, was fatally wounded during a raid on an illicit still near Springville, Blount County, Alabama. The incident occurred when agents split up to approach the still, knowing the suspects would attempt to flee once the raid began. One of the suspects had concealed himself and shot Agent Buckner as he passed by his location.
