In the late summer evening of August 31, 2025, tragedy struck in Jackson, Mississippi, ending the life of 23-year-old Reginald Renaird Brown, Jr. He was fatally shot in the 5800 block of Ridgewood Road and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident marked the city's 40th homicide of the year.
The investigation into Brown's death quickly moved forward, and the Jackson Police Department identified several suspects.
An initial arrest was made, bringing 18-year-old Camerious Huff into custody on a murder charge. Authorities indicated that more arrests were expected as they continued to delve into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Shortly after, police issued capital murder warrants for three other 18-year-olds: Grayson Jackson, Dequavion Ingram, and Brain Jamal Davis. In the days that followed, two of the wanted men turned themselves in to the authorities. Dequavion Ingram surrendered to the Jackson Police Department on September 8th, followed by Brian Davis the next day. Both were subsequently charged with capital murder. One suspect, Grayson Jackson, remains at large. Ingram was denied bond during his initial court appearance.
