On the evening of September 5, 2021, in Jackson, Mississippi, a dispute over a car burglary tragically escalated, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Davonta Reed. The fatal encounter occurred around 7 p.m. on Northside Drive, where Reed was shot multiple times. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Following the shooting, the Jackson Police Department launched an investigation that quickly led to a suspect. Gregory Murray, Jr. was arrested and subsequently charged with the murder ...
