On a Monday afternoon, November 17, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi, 19-year-old Lawrence McElroy Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot in what police described as a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred around 1:35 p.m. as McElroy was stepping out of his home in the 3200 block of Tougaloo Street.
