Deandre Campbell, 36, a Black male, was shot during the early-morning hours of July 20, 2025, at a large memorial gathering in the 3800 block of Wilson Avenue on Lansing’s south side. Officers responded around 3:45–3:48 a.m. and found Campbell with a gunshot wound beneath his arm; first responders provided aid and he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
