Darnell Causey, 23, a Black/African American man, was shot in the early morning hours of August 24, 2025, in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Police responded around 3:12 a.m. to the intersection of Royal and Iberville streets and found him with multiple gunshot wounds; he was taken by EMS to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
