Christopher Cross, 46, a Black male, was found dead from gunshot wounds in New Orleans on a late-summer morning, the kind of quiet hour when neighbors expect to hear delivery trucks and school buses, not sirens. Police were called for a wellness check on September 4, 2025, to the 1400 block of Elysian Fields Avenue in the Seventh Ward; officers and EMS found a man lying unresponsive inside and declared him deceased at the scene.
