In the winter of 2014, the life of Danson Lee "Lil" Simmons Sheffield, a 28-year-old Black man from New Orleans, Louisiana, was cut short. An entrepreneur and aspiring rap artist, he was born on December 27, 1985, to Manning Danson Sheffield and Patsy Simmons Sheffield. He passed away on December 11, 2014.
