In the late hours of a Monday night in Shreveport, Louisiana, the life of 56-year-old Gerald Damon Washington was tragically cut short. On September 29, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Washington was seated in his vehicle, stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Gilbert Drive and Egan Street. It was there that gunfire erupted, shattering the relative quiet of the Highland neighborhood. Multiple shots were fired from outside his vehicle, striking Washington several times.
