Gerald Damon Washington, 56, a Black male, was found late on Monday, September 29, 2025, inside a vehicle in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood after gunfire tore through the car near the intersection of Egan Street and Gilbert Drive. Officers arrived around 11:30 p.m. to discover the vehicle pocked with bullet holes and Gerald Damon Washington unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds; despite life-saving efforts at the scene, Gerald Damon Washington was pronounced dead there.
