In the late hours of a Friday night in Shreveport, Louisiana, the life of Andrean Myles, a 31-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short. On October 29, 2021, while driving through the intersection of Wallace Avenue and Corbitt Street in the Caddo Heights neighborhood, Myles was fatally shot. The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m.
Responding officers discovered Myles' wrecked vehicle by the roadside. He was still inside and able to tell them he had been shot.
Emergency services transported him to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during surgery just before 1:00 a.m. the following morning. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office later confirmed his identity.
In the wake of the shooting, the Shreveport police initiated an investigation into the homicide. A reward was offered for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for Andrean Myles' death. However, despite the ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The shooting remains an unsolved crime, leaving a community searching for answers and a family awaiting justice.
