Carlos Jenkins, a 38-year-old African American cab driver, was found dead in his vehicle on July 5, 2014, in the 700 block of Central Street in west Shreveport, Louisiana. The investigation revealed that Jenkins had been slain, and the case quickly drew attention due to the violent nature of his death. The Shreveport Police Department launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder and identify the perpetrator.
