In the summer of 2025, the life of 64-year-old Floyd Scroggins, a male resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On the afternoon of June 21st, officers from the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to the 4100 block of Crosby Street following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Scroggins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were rendered at the scene in a desperate attempt to save his life, but the
injuries proved to be too severe. Floyd Scroggins succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the location. The Violent Crimes Unit of the Shreveport Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation, cordoning off the area to search for evidence and canvass for any potential witnesses to the deadly shooting.
