In Fort Wayne, Indiana, a dispute that began over a vandalized beauty salon tragically escalated, culminating in the death of 28-year-old Tornor Dejuan Doby. On June 26, 2025, Doby was fatally shot in the entryway of a residence in the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue. The Allen County Coroner's Office later confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
He was identified as the 20th homicide victim in Allen County for that year.
The events leading to the fatal shooting reportedly began when 37-year-old Quenecia Labre Gaylor and 29-year-old Shan Lindell Ford Jr., accompanied by 39-year-old Anisha Denise Jackson, drove to the Hamilton Avenue home. An argument ensued, connected to prior vandalism at a beauty salon. After a child answered the door and it was closed, Ford allegedly threatened to shoot at the house. Gaylor then reportedly threw a computer tower through a window of the home. When Doby, a Black male, came to the door armed, an exchange of gunfire occurred between him and Ford. During the shootout, Doby was struck and killed. Jackson was also fatally wounded while sitting in the driver's seat of the SUV they had arrived in.
The Fort Wayne Police Department's Homicide Task Force quickly identified Gaylor and Ford as suspects. By the following day, June 27, 2025, both individuals were located and arrested without incident. Ford was taken into custody on East Superior Street, and Gaylor was arrested on South Clinton Street. Preliminary charges were filed against both suspects. Ford faced charges of murder, felony murder, and attempted burglary. Gaylor was preliminarily charged with murder, felony murder, and attempted burglary. Both were booked into the Allen County jail as the investigation continued.
