Tornor Dejuan Doby, 28, a Black man from Fort Wayne, was killed on June 26, 2025, after gunfire erupted outside a home near Smith Street and Hamilton Avenue on the city's southeast side. Police and medics found him mortally wounded in the entryway of a residence, while a woman, 39-year-old Anisha Denise Jackson, was discovered fatally wounded in the driver's seat of a crashed SUV nearby. The Allen County Coroner ruled both deaths homicides and later publicly identified Doby and Jackson.
