Damontre Tayshon Burnett, 24, a Black male from Fort Wayne, was shot in the early afternoon of June 19, 2025, in a church parking lot along the 700 block of West Rudisill Boulevard. Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at 2:31 p.m., officers found the 24-year-old with gunshot wounds, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene. The Allen County Coroner later identified the victim as Damontre Tayshon Burnett, 24, of Fort Wayne.
