In the late hours of a Monday evening, the lively atmosphere of a large gathering at Tillman Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was shattered by the eruption of gunfire. On June 23, 2025, Eriyn Brionne White, a 20-year-old male, was fatally wounded in the chaotic moments that ensued. The Fort Wayne Police Department received calls about gunshots in the park at approximately 11:50 p.m. and arrived to find a large crowd dispersing from the area of 7500 South Hanna Street.
Amid the confusion, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene pronounced Eriyn Brionne White deceased. The second victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The Allen County Coroner's office later confirmed White's death as a homicide. The incident was reported to have occurred after a confrontation at the park, where over 100 people were present for a large party.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led Fort Wayne Police Department homicide detectives to a suspect. On June 24, 2025, a 17-year-old male juvenile was identified in connection with the homicide of Eriyn White. He was taken into custody without incident in the 200 block of East Rudisill Boulevard. The juvenile suspect faces preliminary charges of Murder and Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun with a prior conviction. He is currently being held at the Allen County Justice Center. According to some reports, court records indicated that the teenage suspect was allegedly aiming for another individual when he shot the two victims.
