On the evening of June 19, 2025, Michaeline Lowe, age 41, a Black man from Thomson, Georgia, was shot during a fight in the front yard of a home on the 400 block of Bussey Avenue. Officers with the Thomson Police Department were called to the scene around 9:00 p.m. and found Michaeline Lowe, age 41, a man, wounded. He was taken to a local hospital—identified in local reporting as Piedmont McDuffie—where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
