On Friday, September 13, 2024, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a home in the 1200 block of Royal Street, Thomson, McDuffie County, Georgia, in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Calvin Hart Jr., a 39-year-old resident of Thomson, GA, inside the home with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
