On May 11, 2017, Frederick Brooks, a 45-year-old African American male from Decatur, Georgia, was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Thomson, Georgia. The incident occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kennedy Circle. Local authorities were alerted to the scene shortly after 5 p.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered Brooks with fatal gunshot wounds. His body was subsequently transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab in Decatur
